Ubuntu Certified!

Tonight I got some post from my old place (which mostly contained some old bank statements), but inbetween, there was a really cool surprise, my Ubuntu Certified Professional certificate and card!

Whohoo!

Very Nice! I’m jealous! So, how does one become an Ubuntu Certified Engineer?

  2. jonathan says:

Hey Aaron! Ubuntu does certification through the LPI (Linux Professionals Institute). You can get more information from then at http://www.lpi.org

There’s also a page about it on the Ubuntu website, please refer to http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntucert for all the 1st hand information.

Hope to see you become a UCP too! Will I see you in Sevilla in May?

  3. Aaron says:

Ok. I’m really impressed. After looking it over, you really need to know your stuff on this. Cool.

For less than $500, you can certify, and the exams can be taken in any order (lpi 101, lpi 102 & lpi 199 (ubuntu)).

I think I have a new goal to set for myself. And with there being a testing center within a few miles of my house, this is just too tempting. :)

    Congratulations by the way!

    Jonathan,

I am truly happy for you. It is with great pleasure that I see younger generations come along to do greater things than I knew possible. I love the fact that at my age I am actually learning from those I only hoped to teach. It is to you and others like you that I tip my humble hat. Maybe this world is in better hands than I could imagine.

    Hey Aaron,
As we say in french… Bravo! Cool man! Hope you the best from this paper and I think you will!

    Keep up the good work!!

    Pete

    Jonathan,

What was the Ubuntu test format and how many questions?

  7. jonathan says:

Hey George. Unfortunately you have to sign an NDA before you do the test, where you promise not to reveal any details about the contents of the test. I suggest you contact the LPI directly for more details.

    congratulations…
I am seriously thinking of taking the 117-199 exam myself. I already passed LPI-101 and -102. I want to ask you if there is any specific 199 training material for self-study and preparation available? I have read the detailed curriculum (topics) on Ubuntuforum. Thanks for taking time to answer me :-)
